Daily journal December 9, 2001, Harry Potter on a hood, art walk in old Charleston, S.C.

It was a wild Friday night by the seashore or the Charleston Harbor under the Cooper River Bridge next to the South Carolina Aquarium and the new Imax Theater where big boats dock, with a grandstand view of the Yorktown retired aircraft carrier museum with its tall Christmas tree eliminated. I was here to attend the opening of the new gallery 'Eye spy' featuring my friends work, Geoffrey Cormier and showing some of my works on tin and a car hood Geoffrey had brought me on his last visit. I painted it for him with Harry Potter and Santa Claus, the wizard of Oz, Hobart's school of witchcraft and Tinker Bell to reveal the comparison of the fairy tales we have been living with before the groundswell of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. May God save us from this troubled disease that is sweeping the minds of our children into the devil's camp. It reminds me of the boy named John that joined the Taliban’s from his comfortable Californian affluent society home and now is in trouble with the authorities. Geoffrey’s art here on display in this show including another car hood written simply with the words printed "They did not find Hiller either", a long mural on cardboard of a painting sprayed on silhouette which I described as forced labor. Another, a Brooklyn telephone book with the caption 'victims list'. Another small one entitled 'Slave on a shingle'. The entire left wall was painted in a black-and-white mural by a local artist featuring everything like I like to paint it. Another artist displaying his work in the show was blank panels of color that I do not understand. In addition to the Harry Potter car hood that I painted, three small tins and one of the twin towers 9-11, the dragon devil of Revelation, the saints ascending to heaven. The children noticed these a lot. I appreciate being in this show. Someone asked me if I dislike Harry Potter and I replied that I had not though about it but what was obvious to me is the promotion of magic of a supernatural being of power, and that of the devil being alive and deadly. My purpose in painting Harry Potter flying on a broom is to show the comparison of what we were raised with and promote in witchcraft daily, a substitute for God and Christ by Santa Claus and the wizard of Oz fairy tales, teaching our children to worship these fantasies in place of God. All of this illustrated by the lightning bolt and the term 'spellbound'. The Bible states that Satan "fall from Heaven like lightning" Luke 10-18. After this can we think how to pray? Dear Lord, deliver us from satanic influence in the marketplace and it was power to perceive our position relative to end time prophecy ending this day of grace. Give us willing hearts to recognize and witness truth in a real world where there is no magic. We are as blind as a bat when it comes to understanding our problems with kids killing kids in the public-schools and misbehavior running ramped. It starts with feeding them sugar and nourishing their brains on witchcraft magic as if the world was unreal. Our kids are unprepared to face reality. Beginning with the old Western movies of the shootimups to the modern monster movies of mass destruction. How then can a child distinguish between entertainment and acting out fantasies? Does the human race end here? Only those secure in Christ will survive mortal life with God in heaven to escape the pit of hell for which the wicked Witch is attracting us to tinker with. It is time to put away evil things and place our trust in God Almighty. It is time to separate ourselves from the devil's spell and live holy from Satan's vices that will encumber us into slavery. We are addicted to the demonic things. The judgments of God are predictable. The Christian life is clearly defined in the Bible, the Word of God as living power, invest in righteousness.

Let us walk the walk of faith and know God personally to have His living peace and joy.
